Gestalt Therapy Is a Creative Synthesis — Erving Polster

Welcome!

Gestalt Synthesis is a network of people from different backgrounds and approaches, primarily within the field of psychotherapy, united by a vision of reconnecting with the body, emotions, sensations, and the reality of the here and now, and restoring our capacity to love and appreciate the beauty of life.

The word Gestalt means form, configuration, or whole. Accordingly, our approach emphasises integration, embracing the human being as a whole and fostering harmonious personal development. We live in a fragmented, hyper-intellectualised culture dominated by images and consumption, which conceals how wounded and disconnected we are from ourselves, other people, and nature.

We therefore seek healing through awareness, acceptance, and integration of our embodied selves, our instincts, and our wounded parts, by working through the darker aspects of our psyche and cultivating authentic contact with others. By facing our truth, we become free. There is no path; we are the path…

We continually integrate and apply a range of therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt Psychotherapy, Body Psychotherapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, Bioenergetic Analysis, Trauma Therapy, Inner Child Therapy, and others.

Come back again, whoever you are,
wanderer, pilgrim, lover of leaving.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Even if you have broken your vows a thousand times, come back again!
Come back again, whoever you are,
ours is not a caravan of despair.
